A desire… but no solution online
In 2006, I was an interior designer and I had a very specific idea for my living room: I wanted to install a cowhide there.
This would be perfect to bring a warm and authentic touch to my decor.
But here's the thing... it's impossible to find any on the Internet. Not a single website sells this type of product.
A quest that crosses borders
So I ask my husband, Mike, to help me find one.
He embarks on a veritable treasure hunt, calling suppliers abroad, looking for the best option.
After several unsuccessful attempts, he finally found a cowhide in Argentina.
He imports it and, after several weeks of waiting, it finally arrives at our place.
From idea to project: PeauDeVache.com was born
When we unwrapped it, it was a real crush. The skin was beautiful, soft, and elegant.
And that's where the idea was born. Why not create a website that would offer these cowhides, simplifying the whole process?
No more searching for hours, paying abroad, dealing with customs and transport... We could offer simple and direct access to these unique products.
This is how PeauDeVache.com was born.
But questions come to me
Very quickly, I asked myself questions: how should I maintain it? Where should I place it so that it stays beautiful for a long time? Is it really the best quality available?
From passion to excellence: unique know-how
And above all, I realize that the quality of the skins we receive does not always live up to my expectations.
Some are too thin, others poorly processed or have odors... I refuse to offer our customers products that are not perfect.
So, I made a decision: I was going to work directly with French tanneries and create my own workshop .
This choice changes everything. By controlling every step, I can guarantee exceptional hides, carefully selected and crafted according to the rules of the art.
Little by little, the range expanded: in addition to cowhides, sheepskin creations were added, then other products that combined quality, aesthetics and authenticity.
Today, PeauDeVache.com has become much more than just a sales site.
It is the fruit of a passion, a quest for quality and a desire to share with you unique products that warm homes and hearts.
